mezBill vs EZO Billing: what we found when we tested EZO
Our first customer, a small restaurant in Maharashtra, billed on EZO Billing before mezBill. So in September 2026 we tested EZO ourselves, to learn what owners like them are used to. This page puts what we saw next to what mezBill does today, including the things EZO has and we do not.
Who EZO Billing is for
A general billing app for many kinds of business. Its business profile lists about 45 industries, from restaurants and bakeries to clothing and mobile shops, with a list layout for retail, a photo grid for restaurants and a clothing store layout. It bills on Android, in a web browser and in a Windows app.
Who mezBill is for
Restaurants, cafés, sweet shops and small retail counters in India that bill on Android phones. Billing runs on the phone and works without internet, and several phones bill at once. The owner uses the web console for the menu, reports and GST. Plans from ₹499 a month.

What EZO has that mezBill does not
To be fair: these are things we saw in EZO that mezBill does not do today.
EZO bills in a web browser and in its Windows app. mezBill bills on Android phones and tablets only; a computer shows a live board of tables but does not make bills.
EZO gives each business an ordering page with a QR code and an inbox for the orders. mezBill has no online ordering.
EZO's Android app offered 11 languages. mezBill has three: English, Hindi and Marathi.
EZO has an optional ingredient ledger: purchase, scrap, transfer, return and an end-of-day count. mezBill keeps stock of items, not of recipes and ingredients.
EZO had festival greeting images, referral rewards and AI posters to share. mezBill has none of these.
How to move from EZO
Most of it is two Excel files. We can do it with you.
- Download your item list and your party (customer) list from EZO as Excel files.
- In the mezBill web console, open Import and upload the item file. EZO's column names are matched for you: item code, name, sell price, category, GST and veg or non-veg. You see a preview, with any problem rows, before anything is saved.
- Import customers the same way. Each customer's udhaar comes in as an opening balance, so what they owe carries over.
- Add dish photos on the phone or on the web. Photos in the EZO file are not imported yet.
- Pair your printer and print a test bill. Most 58 mm and 80 mm ESC/POS printers work; send us the model number and we will confirm.

This comparison reflects our own testing of EZO Billing's web app on 25 September 2026 and Android app on 25 and 26 September 2026; EZO may have changed since. Can I bring my EZO menu and customers?
Yes. Download your item list and party list from EZO as Excel files and import them in the mezBill web console. Item codes, names, prices, categories and GST come across, and each customer's udhaar comes in as an opening balance. Dish photos are not imported yet.
Can I bill from a computer, as in EZO?
Not today. mezBill bills on Android phones and tablets. A computer can open the web console for the menu, reports and GST, and show a live board of your tables, but it does not make bills.
Is mezBill cheaper than EZO?
We do not quote other companies' prices here, because they change. mezBill costs ₹499, ₹999 and ₹1,999 a month for Starter, Standard and Pro, GST included, with a 30-day free trial. Compare that with the price EZO gives you today.
Can I use the printer I already have?
Most 58 mm and 80 mm thermal printers that speak ESC/POS work over Bluetooth, USB or Wi-Fi. Send us the model number and we will confirm before you pay.
